Short bio
My name is Joaquín Martínez-Minaya, and I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Statistics and Operational Research and Quality at the Universitat Politècnica de València (Spain). My research lies in the field of Applied Bayesian Statistics, where I develop statistical methods for the analysis of multivariate, compositional, spatial and spatio-temporal data. My work combines methodological developments in Bayesian inference with applications in environmental health, ecology and biomedicine. I am interested in hierarchical models, latent Gaussian models, compositional data analysis, measurement agreement, model assessment, validation and predictive performance, and species distribution modelling. From a computational perspective, my research relies on Bayesian inference techniques, especially Integrated Nested Laplace Approximation (INLA) and Hamiltonian Monte Carlo methods.
